Amaretto Sour

For all Amaretto fans, this great cocktail recipe by Jeffrey Morgenthaler uses bourbon or American whiskey just like Whiskey Sour but has the fruity/citrus flavor.  It’s a little complicated to make and it’s best served on the rocks.

  • 1.5 ounce of Amaretto
  • 3/4 ounce of bourbon (preferably cask-proof)
  • 1 teaspoon of syrup that is 2 parts sugar and 1 part water
  • 1 ounce of lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce of beaten egg white

How to make Amaretto Sour cocktail:

Pour all the ingredients into shaker and shake without adding any ice.  Pour some ice and shake again till it’s chilled.  Strain the drink into a glass that is filled with ice.  You can garnish it with lemon peel or cherries.
