Classic Mojito Recipe

Considered as a trendy tropical cocktails, Mojito is the most popular rum based cocktail, served on the rocks and in the highball glass.  In the classic Mojito recipe, the lime juice, sugar and mint are used to complement the kick of the rum.  It has a low alochol content and not strong but it’s little bit complicated to mix.  Just like most cocktails, make sure to use premium rum.

  • 2 ounces of white rum
  • 6 mint leaves
  • 2 teaspoon of sugar (can use 3/4 ounce of simple syrup)
  • Lime cut in halves or 3/4 of lime juice
  • 1.5 ounce of club soda

How to prepare classic Mojito:

There are few ways to make this.  Some use highball glass to muddle, mix and stir the drink and there are some bartenders that use shaker.  Basically, you should muddle the mint leaves gently in the shaker or glass.  Add sugar or syrup, lime juice and rum with ice.  Now if you use shaker, shake well and pour the content un-strained into the glass.  Top it with club soda and garnish with mint.  If you choose to make it in a glass, just stir it well, then add club soda and garnish it with mint leaf.
