Japanese Cocktail

The Japanese Cocktail was made in New York in 1896 by Jerry Thomas.  The cocktail and/or ingredients in this drink has nothing to do with Japan but apparently Jerry Thomas made this drink for the first Japanese delegates that went to his bar.

  • 2 ounce of Cognac
  • 2 dashes of Angostura or Boker’s Bitters
  • 0.5 ounce of Orgeat Syrup

How to make Japanese Cocktail:

Pour the ingredients into a shaker filled with ice.  Stir and strain into chilled glass.  You can garnish it with lemon twist or lime wheel.
