Riesling wines are food-favoring, dynamic wines that continuously gain fans at the international level.  Within this one grape varietal, there is great expression and variety, which adds to this impressive white wine grape’s versatility and interest.

If you are searching for the Mosel region’s quintessential German Riesling, this must be it.  It is an ultra concentrated wine that has maneuverability, elegance and complex that can handle practically any palate with definitive structure and strong varietal character.

3. Josef Leitz Radesheimer Drachenstein “Dragonstone” Riesling

The Dragonstone Riesling from Josef Leitz Radesheimer is an ultra elegant and off-dry Riesling that sit at an incredible price.  It rocks out with generous amounts of citrus and peach Hugel Rieslingundertones, high acidity and food pairing that is versatile in nature.  This is an ideal wine for a picnic.  Try it with most seafood, shellfish, Thai food, sandwiches and chicken salad.

Michelle, the leading Riesling producer in America.  It always results in a stunning rendition of a Riesling with Old World elegance and Washington-inspired ultra ripe fruit.  A lemon lime aroma and subtle, nearly spicy edge is highlighted on the nose.  A well-balanced, rich texture medley of tropical and citrus fruit is produced on the palate with a crisp and clean acidity.

6. Trimbach Riesling

This is a traditional Alsatian Riesling.  It brings an optimal balance between acidity and residual sugar levels, clean flavor profiles and ample aromatics.  The foundation of the palate is largely a citrusy base with prominent peach influences as well.  Pork tenderloin is an excellent pairing for the Trimbach Riesling.

This delicious Scholoss Saarstein Riesling runs at 8% alcohol.  There are layers of lime and lemon citrus at the forefront along with a peach punch that is backed with lots of lip-smacking, lively acidity.  This charming Riesling has a medium body along with a significant fresh factor that is grounded firmly by a slate-laced minerality that is undeniable and an enduring and elegant finish.  You should consider pairing this Riesling with pork and fruit sauce, bacon wrapped scallops and assorted Asian fare.

9. Schloss Schonborn Riesling Halbtrocken

This is an off-dry, classic German Riesling.  This wine is a good value, with ripe grapefruit and lemon flavors that are planted firmly inside a subtle minerality.  The Riesling has layered fruit, a gutsy acidity and clear, clean finish, not to mention a winning price.  You really can’t ask for more than that.

10. Smith-Madrone Riesling

This bottle  tropical delight and estate grown Riesling offers a start that is full flavored and finish that is mouth watering and crisp.  The fruit is high profile with a ripe peach burst that is balanced with Granny Smith apple.  The fruit is kept in line with vivid acidity and a variety of food pairing ensembles go very well with it.
